 Introduction

Thrift Cooperative Federation Ltd., is an Apex Organisation in the Cooperative Thrift & Credit System in India. The Federation was originally registered under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 1984 vide Registration No.MSCS/CR/62/96 on 12-08-1996, commenced its business operation since 15-11-1996. Now the Federation has deemed registered under the MSCS Act., 2002 and the Rules are made there under w.e.f. 31-10-2007. The area of operation of the Federation extends to the States of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Puducherry for the present. The Membership is extended to Employees Thrift Cooperatives, Women Thrift Cooperatives and Neighbourhood Thrift Cooperatives working in the Area of Operation of the Federation. The Federation provides Financial and Non Financial Services to the Member Societies.

 AIM

TCF believes in principles of Cooperation. The aim of TCF is to promote, organise and expand the Thrift Cooperative movement and improve its efficacy so as to make it a powerful instrument for the economic and social betterment of people / members.

 OBJECT

Enable the Thrift & Credit Cooperative Societies to be effective catalyst for the social and economic betterment of their members through self help and mutual aid.

 MEMBERSHIP

The membership of TCF is open to ordinary Members and Nominal / Associate Members who are admitted by the TCF Board, at its discretion, subject to the Bylaws and membership policy of the TCF.

a) Ordinary Member : Any primary Thrift and Credit Cooperative Society, having its principle object and carrying on collection of Thrift Deposit continuously & regularly at least once in a month from its members and lending loans to its members regularly for all types of purposes and committed to the values of self help, mutual aid transparency, accountability, autonomy and sustainable development of its members may become member of the TCF.

b) Nominal / Associate Member : Any person, which includes any legal entity, on payment of a non-refundablemembership fee of Rs.50/- may become a Nominal / Associate Member of the TCF.

 AREA OF OPERATION

At present Federation extented its area of operation from the States of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Puducherry.
